Gobs O'Phun

Brothers Tim and Denis Sullivan - along with brother-in-law, Martin Lambuth - form the trio. They sing traditional Irish and Scottish folksongs. The term "gob" is Irish and Scottish slang for your mouth, befitting a band that is more of a vocal group than instrumentalists. And when they frame their music with spontaneous and ad-libbed humor, you never know what fun will come out of their gobs!

Celebrating over 11 years, they currently have 5 cds: "Liverdance" a collection of drinking songs; "These Gobs are Revolting" historical rebel tunes; "Major Phun's Loyal Hearts Pub Band" 26 most-requested pub favorites; a collection of songs that is half Scottish, half Irish titled "Highland Derry Airs" - featuring Seamus Kennedy's politically incorrect, "Old MacDonald's Deformed Farm"; and their most recent - "Barstools and Bad Habits". The titles alone tell you what to expect! They can be found in pubs all over the region, and may even be singing in some.

Although many associate their music with March, they're not just for St. Patrickšs Day anymore! Their songs tell stories and because of the universal themes in the songs be it love, honor, pride, overcoming adversity, freedom or humorous in nature their music appeals to all cultural backgrounds.

Gobs O'Phun is a family band that is family-friendly. They started in pubs, but now play festivals across the state, as well as Utah and Wyoming; public events like the alcohol-free First Night Colorado New Years Eve and the 2002 Winter Olympics in SLC; grade schools, senior centers, nursing homes, churches and even a convent. As you can see, they have a wide demographic appeal as well.
