Hunting for Haggis
|
This isn''t just a band, it''s a cultural revolution! Like it or not,
this is the future of music; and I for one am throwing in my hat and
screaming hooray!
The power is back to the people where it belongs. Small independent
bands from nowhere with huge online fan bases dragging in people that
haven''t been to a concert or a venue in years. This is not four
pretty boys delving out pre-canned formulas from the marketing
department and spraying the audience with testosterone. This is GOOD,
good-time music by the people and for the people. It''s about
camaraderie, brotherhood, and friendship. And it''s just the tip of an
emerging subculture that is regaining a sense of itself; made up of
nomads that have been wandering for so many generations that they''ve
forgotten who they are and where they came from. They are intelligent,
fiercely proud, and all share a deep love of nature and curiosity
about the world and all that is in it. They are the Wandering Celts.
Headed up by Zeus MacBean and the Gypsy Fiddler Jacie McConnell,
the band Hunting for Haggis is calling to the masses. In the wake of
bands like The Elders, The Waterboys, The Wicked Tinkers,
Flogging Molly, Afro-Kelt Soundsystem, Unledded Zep, and yes even
Johnny Cash; Hunting for Haggis delivers a clever and original
battery of electro-acoustic bouzouki, fiddle, and percussion,
with all the hoops and hollering to drag you back into a sense of yourself.
Ask yourself, have you every really felt truly at home ... anywhere?
Is there something about all this that stirs something primitive in
yer veins? Well you may be a Wandering Celt yer-self and yer not alone.
Go on and get a kilt on, grab a Guinness and get in here get yer game on.
GAME ON!
